ADAS Recalibration
Ensuring your vehicle's safety systems work exactly as they should after a windscreen repair or replacement.
What Is ADAS?
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are the electronic safety technologies built into many modern vehicles. These include features like automatic emergency braking, lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision alerts - all of which rely on cameras, radar, and lidar sensors, many of which are mounted at or near the windscreen.
These systems are designed to help prevent accidents and make driving safer. When working correctly, they are genuinely valuable. When they fall out of calibration, they can give incorrect alerts, fail to respond appropriately, or in some cases, not work at all.
Why Recalibration Matters After a Windscreen Replacement
Even a small change in the angle or position of a windscreen can affect how a camera mounted behind it reads the road ahead. Following a windscreen replacement (and sometimes after a major chip repair) any cameras or sensors mounted on or near the glass will typically need recalibration to ensure they continue to operate accurately.
Skipping this step is not just a technical oversight, it can mean your safety systems are no longer functioning as designed, which has real implications for your safety on the road.
How We Handle It
When we complete a windscreen replacement on a vehicle equipped with ADAS, we coordinate all necessary recalibration as part of the job. We ensure your vehicle is restored to its original safety standards so you can drive away with confidence.
