When does a windscreen need replacing instead of repairing?

A windscreen usually needs replacing when the crack is too large, the damage is near the edge of the glass, or the chip is directly in the driver’s line of sight. We can assess the damage in person or via a photo and recommend the safest option for your vehicle.

How long does a windscreen replacement take?

Most windscreen replacements take between 1–2 hours, depending on the vehicle and the type of glass required. Additional time may be needed for ADAS calibration on modern vehicles.

How soon can I drive my car after the replacement?

Your vehicle can get back on the road 2-3 hours after the repair. This time allows for our adhesive to cure sufficiently. Your windscreen contributes to your cars structural strength and is a vital surface for airbag deployment.

What weather conditions affect my windscreen replacements?

Heavy rain, strong winds, or extreme temperatures can affect installation quality and adhesive curing times. We pride ourselves on the highest quality repairs so if the weather is going to compromise this we will contact you to reschedule.

Can you replace my windscreen at my home or workplace?

Yes! We are a fully mobile service. We can complete replacements at a location that works best for you.

Will my insurance cover it and can you deal directly with my insurance company?

Yes. Most windscreen repairs and replacements are able to be claimed on your insurance, often with zero excess depending on your policy.
